Green Pest Control

At Bill's Exterminating Co, Inc., we have been practicing "Green Pest Control" long before the "Green" became such a popular part of today's lifestyle.  In the termite and pest control industry, "Green" is synonymous with a technical term called IPM, or Integrated Pest Management.  IPM is the practice of using the best combination of tools, methods, and materials to achieve a satisfactory pest level.  By performing thorough inspections, we are able to identify target areas and then carefully choose a treatment method that can reduce the amount of pesticides required to solve a pest problem.  Through IPM treatment strategies and professionally educated staff members, Bill's Exterminating Co., Inc. has, and will always be, focused on you and your family's safety with great interest on environmental preservation.  As more eco-friendly products are produced and proven effective, Bill's Exterminating Company will be offering more and more comprehensive "Green" pest management solutions for you.  Depending upon your needs and desire for aggressive versus non-aggressive pest control, we can custom-tailor a pest management program for you from the beginning of, or during, any pest control service plan.

The best example of a reduced risk treatment method is in our Termite Baiting Program.  Conventional treatment methods involve invasive drilling techniques and the need for hundreds of gallons of pesticide applied under and around a home or building.  Termite Baiting uses no pesticide until termites are actually baited into the monitored station, after which, a sealed cartridge of pesticide is installed into the child-proof station.  The baited termites consume this and carry it back to colony and reduce the colony to critical, collapsing levels.  The active ingredient is a chitin-synthesis inhibitor that keeps termites from shedding their exoskeleton to grow.  Since humans have no exoskeleton, the active ingredient is of very little risk to mammals (people and pets).  Even better, termite baiting treatments do not fail in a few years as conventional liquid treatments often will.  As long as the Termite Baiting Protection system is renewed and a qualified professional services it, the protection remains 100% effective without the need for re-applying large quantities of liquid pesticides.

In general pest control services, our certified field specialists conduct a thorough investigation for insect activity including active areas, nesting spots, and entry points.  Then, as needed, a carefully chosen material is used to control the problem.  This is much different than the old "hose it down" and "spray and pray" method of decades past that many pest control companies still use to this day.  Instead of hoping the pests come in contact with our treatment, we take the treatment directly to them.  Through the use of roach and ant baits, we are able to attract pests to a few carefully placed feeding points instead of applying liquid pesticides to an entire house or building.  Finally, after an insect problem has been taken care of inside, we move future treatments to the exterior to prevent further problems from coming in.  These methods greatly reduce the amounts of pesticides used in your environment.
